I began teaching workshops when I set up Diss Writers in 1997 or thereabouts. Since then, I’ve taught in
face to face and online situations with groups large and small. I currently teach here in Norfolk, but over
the years, I’ve taught in Australia, Switzerland, Ireland, and at various venues here in the UK.
I started my own creativity project, Journeys to Voice, in March 2005, when I worked online with two
groups. Since then, I’ve taught the project face to face at many writers’ conferences and retreats, including
a day school for ACT Writers in Canberra, the QWF Conference at Glastonbury and the SWWJ Weekend
Conference at Chester.
I am as passionate about teaching as I am about writing, and I get enormous satisfaction from knowing my
students are in my classes because they want to be, not because they have to be! I have only one rule
when I’m teaching - that is, there are no rules.
